A WOMAN'S JOURNEY

As a woman, our life can be filled with many twists and turns; some may have been planned while others were unexpected. We are bombarded with images every day through media of what beauty, love, and success looks like. Many of those images and some of our past life experiences fall short of God’s image and plan. We must journey with God and truly discover the fullness of everything He has called and planned for us in our identity, value, worth, gifts and worship. It’s time to unclutter our lives and make room for more of Him.

MY IDENTITY

The Woman at the Well

The woman at the well can be representative of any woman who is searching for a resting place in her identity. The complete story of her encounter with Jesus is recorded in John 4:5-42. This Samaritan woman had come to the well looking to draw water to quench a natural thirst when in essence she was really searching for something to quench her spiritual thirst. She had been married five times, and when she encountered Jesus at the well, the man she was currently in a relationship with wasn’t her husband.

She had met and married five men in her past and none could satisfy and quench the thirst deep down in her soul. This changed the day she met Jesus. He was the first man she had encountered who wasn’t looking to take but to only give her rest from her wanderings, an identity in Him that would transform her life and a peace that she didn’t have to look any further.

John 4:6,7,10

6. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

7. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

10. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
