SHARE THE LIGHT

Name Your Light

It’s important that you know the source of your light. If you are a Christian, Christ and Christ alone is the source of your light that shines in the dark places. Don’t be afraid to name the source of the light that shines from within you. Paul reminds us to not be ashamed… “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” Romans 1:16.

When your light shines, people will be drawn to it or repelled by its brightness. Shine anyway and love always! When people inquire about your light, use it as an opportunity to share your faith and an open door to lead them to receive Christ in their own life. Never let an open door pass you by because you don't know when it may come around again to share your faith with that person.

Don’t dim your light to fit in with darkness. Walk in the light of what you know to be true in God’s Word and never compromise for acceptance by others. Never forget… “…Christ living in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).

How to Pray for Someone Who Needs to Know Jesus

The following are prayer points to pray, based on scriptural references, for someone who needs to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Matthew 9:35-38 (KJV)

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Prayer Points:

  • Pray that God would send a labourer to cross their path to minister the gospel of Christ to them in a way they can receive it. Be open, as you may be the labourer He uses.

  • Pray that all roadblocks and hindrances would be removed so that the labourer would be able to reach the unbeliever you are praying for.

Ephesians 1:17-23 (KJV)

Pray this prayer daily, and insert the name of the person who needs to know Jesus in the blank spaces.

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto _________________ the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of ________________ understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

II Corinthians 4:4

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Prayer Point:

  • Pray that the blinders the enemy has placed over their mind are removed so that the light of the Gospel of Christ will shine unto them.

How to Lead Someone in the Salvation Prayer to Receive Jesus

The following are some scriptures you can incorporate when ministering salvation to someone and leading them in saying the salvation prayer:

  • John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

  • Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

  • John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  • Romans 10:8-10 - But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Salvation Prayer

Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God. I believe that you were crucified and raised from the dead for me. Come into my heart and life and save me now. I believe with my heart, and I confess you Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Thank you that I am now saved!
